This is going to sound stupid but my nerves are gone. I need help in dealing with a bully at work. The thing is he has no respect for authority and over the past couple of years he has totally wrecked my confidence to the point where I simply freeze when ever he is showing me up or mocking me.

Now the really embarrassing part. Do you know the old joke about a guy arguing about not wanting to go to school and the punch line is "you have to go, you’re 45 and the headmaster? Well that’s me. I’m the headmaster and I’m being torn to pieces by a quick witted arrogant teenager who now has me terrified to walk the corridors …………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..when he is near me, my mind goes blank, my mouth goes dry and I panic inside. I suspect he knows what he is doing to me.

    Can hypnosis help me?
    Thank you.

    Fed Up,
I have edited your question as I believe giving the details as to how it started may help someone in your school identify you. I suspect given your position you would prefer to keep your anonymity.

The strength and power of a bully lies in their ability to undermine the confidence and evoke fear in the target or victim whether it be a physical or emotional threat. Obviously the nature of each bullying case depends on circumstances and the individuals involved. In your case I would be extremely confident that you can re-establish your own confidence and self belief. Remember you reached the position you are in because you demonstrated the talents and capabilities necessary to perform the role. You can re-focus your thinking to build on that. At the moment you are allowing one embarrassing moment to overshadow the achievements of the last 25 years of your life. Remember in a couple of years the student will be gone from the school. You will be around for another 20 years.

I know it is easier said than done, but that is where hypnotherapy is so powerful. By using hypnosis to access the subconscious you can reframe your thinking to allow your achievements be the more powerful trigger and embed all the associated positive emotion thus replacing the negative thought process you are letting control you at the moment
