    What is your success rate with smokers? And do you give a refund if it doesn’t work?

    No I don’t give refunds. I give a free follow up session if required. And to date no one has ever come back looking for a free session. Does that mean I can claim 100% success? I wouldn’t put my head on the block by making such a claim. I’m not in touch with people after they finish their sessions. The only feedback I get is if someone posts on the site so I won’t claim what I do not know to be true.
    I would attribute a large part of the success to the introduction session and the approach I take. The introduction session is invaluable for both me and the client to set the goals and realistic expectations. I have on occasion turned people away if I believe they are simply not ready or if their expectations of hypnosis or hypnotherapy are unrealistic. If I feel someone is really not in the right frame of mind to give up smoking it would be unethical of me to take their money. Some people think they want to give up smoking but when they really examine all the factors they realise they are not ready yet. (I posted in another thread some of the other factors to consider when quitting) I will only work with someone if I genuinely believe in a successful outcome.

    Is that not you being selective to keep your success rate high? Pick the easy ones and reject any you have a doubt about?

    No, it is me being honest and I believe ethical. I’ll give you one example;

    Suppose someone uses smoking as a way of dealing with stress in their life. It would be wrong of me to simply remove the habit of smoking. Personally I believe such an individual needs to be equiped to recognise their stress triggers and deal with stress before they stop smoking. Otherwise they are very likely to start smoking again at the first sign of stress or they may substitute another negative habit ie. comfort eating, drinking etc.

    I hope that explains what I mean. It’s not that I reject "the difficult cases" I just make sure everyone has the best chance possible before starting
